WRITE FIGHT III
For WRITE FIGHT III, Revolver was done fuckin' around. They set their sights on the purported "great American novel" Moby Dick as inspiration, foil and target. The setting: Peavey Plaza in downtown Minneapolis - an amphitheater that has made the top ten list of architectural eyesores in America. It suited Revolver's schemes perfectly.
Aided by the indefatigable madcap carpenter and art fabricator, Tony D'Aloia, the plaza's weird Art Deco waterfall was transformed into the Pequod. Ever-ambitious, the distractions were engineered to stun both crowd and contestants: a Chinese dragon White whale, swashbucklers, pedicab rides, a BDSM contraption that symbolized writing under the weight of the literary canon.
After the event, the Revolver editors stuck around to challenge any and all comers to mini-write fight bouts til the wee morning hours.
